Our team invited the church families back for an afternoon party which included yard games, a Rwandan comedy video on a big screen we borrowed from Rwanda Challenge, popcorn (cooked on clean cook stoves) and juice. We served 400 children and many parents. It was a long hot day for our team, but as Patrick reminded us, "The children had a great time and that is what matters."
Even though we seem to be constantly surrounded by large crowds of children, each of us are still finding one or two with whom we share some special connection. The needs are so many that we would be completely overwhelmed if it were not for these special moments that remind us that each child is an individual with a unique personality and potential.
We finished off our day with a dinner that included Africa tea (milk, tea, and ginger), vegetable soup, boiled bananas, goat cheese and fresh sweet mango.
We are so thankful to our great and glorious God for your love, prayers and financial support that has made this wonderful visit possible. Blessings to all!
