When we arrived at church we were welcomed with open arms. The service was very moving in so many ways. They ministered in song and drama. Each of our team members were asked to preach. Yohanna (Johnny) spoke first and spoke on the Great Commission and then spoke on his personal experiences and the call to courage when answering God's call. Then it was Solina's (Charlene's) turn. With her gift of words she started out explaining the busyness of life with all its distractions and how that affects our walk with the Lord. Finally I (Madeko (Mark)), who was very unprepared, spoke of the fear that was eased the first day I arrived in Rwanda, reading from Jer. 29:11 and then Matt. 5:11-16.
After church we found the "Tree of Life" Yohanna's special tree. The we returned back to the hotel.
We were blessed with the beauty of a large rainbow. Yet another promise of God.
Later in the afternoon we headed for Lake Muhazi. This was a long ride on unpaved roads. We arrived late afternoon with pastor Emmanuel and Henry where we embarked on another spiritual moment with a baptism in Rwanda, where we were all baptized in our Rwandan names.
We are ready and prepared to train on repairs to water collection systems tomorrow.
God Bless!
