Hey DR trip families it's Andrew. Well, Day 3 is over, now on to Day 4! But today could not have been any better. The Compassion site we visited was fun, awesome, and spiritually powerful. I got to share my testimony/story and play with the kids that were there. Visiting the same place twice in a row really gives us the opportunity to have relationships with the kids. For example, this awesome kid named Michael helped me learn more Spanish, and in return, I taught him English. I may never see him again and he may not remember it, but just interacting with him will become a memory that will never leave me, ever.
Hello to everyone back in New Hampshire, this is Emery. Everyone on this trip has been talking about how, though the days seem so long, this week has gone by way too fast and we all wish that we could spend at least another week here because of the amazing people and churches that we have all connected with. We spent the morning playing games and dong crafts/nails/hair/bracelets with all of the kids, which was so much fun just because of the joy these simple things brought them. We spent the afternoon doing a youth rally with all of the teenagers, which was great because, though there was a language and culture barrier, everyone was making such huge efforts to communicate and try to get to know each other. In the evening we had a barbecue for anyone in the church who wanted to come - we sang with them, some of us shared our testimonies, and we prayed and ate together. However when we had to leave, it was clear the impact we had on these people. After two short days, we were already practically a part of their family and they just kept telling us that we were welcome to come back any time and thanking us, when I would never be able to thank them enough for their hospitality, generosity, and selfless kindness.
